James Whittle, Head of the Pay.UK Standards Authority, has recently been elected to the role of
‘Registration Management Group (RMG) Convenor of the International Group on ISO 20022’.
The International Group on ISO 20022 consists of 38 member organisations from around the world, including the Bank of England, Mastercard, the European Central Bank and Visa. Its purpose is to:
- promote and support involvement with the standard;
- ensure the standard continues to work well for the global user community; and
- provide a central contact point for any organisation wishing to engage with the ISO 20022 standard.
This is the third term of office that James will serve as convenor and his tenure will run for one year from the end of 2019.
It is a great honour to be elected to this position for the third time by registration group members. The role of convenor is akin to that of chairman of a board, so I will be acting to ensure that we effectively implement the RMG’s agreed objectives.
