Pay.UK has announced Age UK East London as its charity partner for the next three years.
In a decision led by our colleagues, the new partnership between Pay.UK and Age UK East London will involve a variety of employee engagement activities and fundraising initiatives to support older people in the boroughs of Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets.
We have set a goal to raise £15,000 for the local charity over the course of the year, with various initiatives to be match funded by Pay.UK, as part of our commitments to driving positive social impact. Already we have raised £3,240 for the charity through a colleague raffle.
Age UK East London is dedicated to supporting older people in the local community, promoting independence and tackling loneliness. It provides a range of services, information and advice, social activities and healthcare access, as well as campaigning for older people’s rights.
Last year, the charity supported 23,361 older people and their carers, to escape poverty, access their rights, get help to stay safe in their homes, enjoy social activities, exercise classes and clubs in the community.
ESG Manager, Christian Shiba, said: “We are proud to have established a long-term commitment to support Age UK East London and the people who make up our local community. Our joint fundraising efforts and awareness campaigns will help ensure that the charity is able to continue providing vital care and support to help improve the lives of older people in East London.”
We are committed to having a positive social impact through our employment practices, commitment to greater diversity and inclusion, and our targeted community and charity outreach activities.
