Confirmation of Payee

Introduced in 2020, Confirmation of Payee (CoP) is a fraud prevention tool which has been proven to mitigate certain types of Authorised Push Payment (APP) fraud and accidentally misdirected payments. CoP has become an important tool in the fight against fraud, and due to its success, the service has been expanded with over 300 organisations now offering CoP, completing over 2m checks every day.
