General Counsel

Purpose of Job:

The Role will be part of the Legal team, within the General Counsel’s Directorate.

The incumbent will be required to liaise with the various Directorates and Department Heads.

In collaboration with the Head of Legal and the wider Legal Team, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that various Directorates in Pay.UK are provided with high quality regulatory and other legal advice across the Pay.UK business.

The incumbent will proactively support the management of legal risk across the organization and will assist with the implementation and execution of Legal processes and controls.

Job Description

Purpose of Job:

The Role will be part of the Legal team, within the General Counsel’s Directorate.

The incumbent will be required to liaise with colleagues across the various Directorates of Pay.UK.

In collaboration with the Head of Legal and the wider Legal Team, the incumbent will support the provision of legal advice across Pay.UK and the retail payments ecosystem in relation to a wide range of activities, including participation for those who offer Pay.UK services, regulatory and commercial obligations, finance strategy, procurement and contract management.

Act as a subject matter expert in specific practice area(s) of law, support the management of legal risk across Pay.UK and assist with the implementation and execution of Legal processes and controls.

Purpose of Job:

The Financial Accounting Associate – Purchase Ledger has a range of responsibilities involving various aspects of the general accounting and financial reporting functions and the financial services area with specific focus on the following:

• Ensuring that supplier invoices and requests for the payment are appropriately authorised and settled on a timely basis.
• Assisting in the smooth running of the Accounting department.

NPA

Purpose of Job:

For the successful candidate, this role offers a real opportunity to step into a senior management position, overseeing one of the most complex and critical areas of the business-critical transformation programme, as well as being the key representative for the Programme to the outside world, alongside the NPA Director.

The NPA programme is a high profile, critical programme of change for the UK and as such, will provide the future role holder with exposure to key external stakeholders such as Participant Banks, the FinTech community and the wider set of stakeholders in the UK payments ecosystem.

The candidate will be accountable for the end to end stakeholder engagement strategy and on-going management across the NPA Programme. They will have autonomy in the development and execution of the NPA Programme

Regulatory Engagement & Policy

Purpose of Job:

Reporting to the Senior Policy Manager, the Policy Analyst supports the Regulatory Engagement & Policy Directorate with required research (including horizon scanning of industry developments), policy development, analysis, preparation of publications or reports, as well as in the preparation for meetings and conferences.

The jobholder works with other directorates, supporting them to understand the implications of regulatory and other industry developments, and providing clear and well-reasoned written submissions for Pay.UK’s executive and board-level committees as well as Pay.UK’s regulators.
